Temple Sinai’s Campus Expansion Project

What a blessing to be a part of a community filled with such foresight and dedication! May our new building be a pillar of holiness, an honor to our past, and a commitment to our future." - Rabbi Andrea Berlin
The commitment to grow and support this institution is just one example of Temple Sinai’s dedication to the continuity of the Jewish people and Jewish tradition. It is a blessing and honor for me to be a part of this dynamic and vibrant community. - Rabbi Jacqueline Mates-Muchin

Fundraising Process

The campaign is being organized into two phases: the lead gift phase, and the congregational campaign.

Lead donor phase:
During the lead gift phase, Rabbi Chester and a few members of the campaign committee reached out to the Board of Trustees and a small group of congregants to raise the first $7 million.

Congregational campaign:
In June 2006, we launched the second phase of the campaign--the Temple Sinai Congregational Campaign. The goal of this phase is to raise $3 million to name the newly expanded facility in honor of Rabbi Chester.

During this phase of the campaign, we are personally contacting congregants to discuss the project. Over 40 congregants have volunteered to help us raise the money necessary to make our dream a reality. They are organized into teams that include a team leader or co-team leaders, and 5-6 team members. The teams are working as fast as they can to reach out to members to discuss making a gift to the project.

An Im Tirtzu campaign phone-a-thon will be conducted in October 2007 to reach out to Temple members who have not yet had an opportunity to speak with a campaign volunteer.

Preschool Campaign:
As part of the capital campaign, the preschool set a goal of reaching out to each and every one of our preschool families. This team, led by Melissa Heller, Aviva Black and Anne Schmitz is hoping to achieve 100% support of the campaign by preschool families.

This is an exciting moment in time for our community. Our goal is to provide everyone who wishes to support the campaign with an opportunity to talk with a campaign volunteer about making a gift. If you have not yet been contacted and would like to speak with someone about making a gift to the campaign, please call our Executive Director, Paul Geduldig, and he will make sure the campaign team knows to get in touch with you as soon as possible.
